Entry deadline for the European Championship of Quarter Horses approaching
The entry deadline is already on July 12th for the 31st European Championship of American Quarter Horses, which will take place from August 8th to 15th. The current COVID incidence of 0.0 in the district of Amberg-Sulzbach gives hope for a relaxed event on the facility in Kreuth with few official restrictions.
Besides the European Championship titles in the Halter and Performance classes, European Champion titles in the Longe Line and Trail in Hand classes will be awarded this year. Since these classes are no official AQHA classes yet this year, the title will be calculated from the judges' results and there will be no final. Eligible to compete are 2 and 3 year old horses that will not be shown under saddle at the show. If enough entries are received, the classes will be divided into 2- and 3-year-old classes. In addition to Longe Line and Trail in Hand, the young horses can of course also be presented in Halter and Showmanship classes, so that the young horses can make their first show experiences.
Also new this year is the Ranch Trail, which is announced in the Open and Amateur division.
In addition to the EC classes, the NSBA Germany Futurity, which is held in conjunction with the European Championship, will offer additional starting possibilities in Pleasure Open, Pleasure Non Pro, Hunter Under Saddle Open and Hunter Under Saddle Non Pro.
Arrival to the show will be possible as early as 8 a.m. on Friday, August 6, so that horses and riders who have traveled farther can have plenty of time to recover before the show. On Saturday, a variety of Paid Warm Ups will be offered, which can be registered for on-site. On the following days, the Level 1 Show offers the opportunity to prepare in the show arena for the 4-AQHA shows, where the finalists in the performance classes will be determined Monday through Thursday. The finals will take place from Friday to Sunday.
All entry documents can be found at here. A detailed hygiene concept and further show information will be published on the homepage about two weeks before the show.

With European Youth und Amateur Team Cup / new: Covid-Trail and Covid-Pleasure
Finally the time has come: one of the most beautiful Quarter Horse events in Europe casts its shadow ahead: the European Championship of American Quarter Horses invites the best horses and riders from all over Europe to a 4-fold AQHA show in Kreuth from August 8 to 15, 2021. For optimal preparation, paid warm ups will be offered on Saturday, August 7. The European Championship will begin on Sunday, August 8 with the Green and Novice classes in preparation for the Go Round. The European Champions in the Halter classes will be determined on Monday and Tuesday. There will be no finals here - the results will be determined from the four judges' scores. In the Performance classes. exhibitors qualify their horses for the finals from Monday to Thursday via the 4-fold AQHA show. The finals will follow from Friday to Sunday (August 13 to 15) - the judging will then be done by three judges. All European Champions will receive, among other things, a European Champion blanket and a newly designed buckle.
The FEQHA European Youth and Amateur Team Cup will also be held as part of the European Championships, with teams competing in eight classes. To protect the horses, the Cup classes will be held Class in Class in the 4-fold AQHA show of the European Championships. The winning teams will receive beautiful Ellen Welten trophies.
The European Championships 2021 also offer a novelty: Thanks to the sponsoring of the Singularity Group, there will be a 2,500 Euro Covid Trail and a Covid Pleasure, also endowed with 2,500 Euro. Both classes will take place on Saturday evening. Since one has to protect oneself in Covid times, the participants will of course ride in appropriate protective gear to suitable music.
The show will be judged by Sylvia Katschker (AUT), Vreni Schmid (SUI), Ricky Bordignon (ITA) and Cedric Leroux (BEL). The European Championships will be broadcast via livestream.
